Prachchhana is an Ayurvedic Shalya (surgical) procedure involving multiple small superficial incisions on the skin using a surgical lancet. The technique promotes release of vitiated blood and deep-seated toxins from the local tissue. It is indicated for skin disorders such as psoriasis plaques, chronic urticaria, deep-seated infections, and inflammatory conditions unresponsive to other treatments. It is often combined with Leech therapy or Ksharasutra for better results.
