Hot Pack therapy involves applying a heated moist pack (hydrocollator pack) to the affected area. The moist heat penetrates deeper into muscles and joints than dry heat, increasing tissue temperature, dilating blood vessels, and promoting muscle relaxation. It relieves muscle spasms, stiffness, joint pain, and menstrual cramps. Hot packs are commonly used before exercise therapy or manual therapy to prepare the tissues and reduce pain-induced guarding.
