Gandusha involves filling the mouth completely with medicated oil, herbal decoction, or water and holding it (without gargling) for a specified period until it liquefies or becomes watery from salivary secretions. Unlike Kavala, there is no movement of the liquid inside the mouth. Gandusha strengthens gums and jaw muscles, treats dental caries, mouth ulcers, dry mouth, throat infections, and improves voice quality. It also has systemic benefits through oral mucosal absorption.
