Dhuma Pana (medicated smoking) is an Ayurvedic therapy where smoke from specially prepared herbal cigarettes or fumigation pipes is inhaled through the mouth or nose. The herbs used include Haridra, Vacha, Guggulu, and others with expectorant, bronchodilatory, and antimicrobial properties. It is indicated for chronic cough, bronchitis, sinusitis, hiccups, headaches, and as a follow-up to Nasya therapy. The herbal smoke clears respiratory passages and calms the nervous system.
